Relay is non-custodial crosschain infrastructure that lets you swap any supported token for any other supported token — across any of 85+ chains — without an account, email, or KYC. This guide covers how to use it from start to finish.
What You Can Do with Relay
- Swap ETH on Ethereum for USDC on Base
- Move USDC from Solana to Arbitrum in a single step
- Buy ETH on Base starting from SOL on Solana
- Send funds from one chain to another wallet address
- Acquire any token on any supported chain from whatever you currently hold
Relay's intent-based model means you specify what you want to receive, and a network of independent fillers competes to execute it. Most transactions complete in under 3 seconds.
Before You Start
You need a compatible wallet. Relay supports:
- EVM wallets: MetaMask, Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet, Safe, and any WalletConnect-compatible wallet
- Solana wallets: Phantom, Backpack, Solflare
If you're moving assets between EVM and Solana, you'll need both types of wallet connected simultaneously.
Step 1: Open Relay
Navigate to relay.link in your browser. No sign-up, no account creation, no email required.
You'll see the main swap widget. The left side is your source (what you're starting with) and the right side is your destination (what you want to receive).
Step 2: Connect Your Wallet
Click Connect Wallet and connect your wallet. If you're doing an EVM-to-EVM swap, connecting one wallet is sufficient. If you're routing to or from Solana, connect both your EVM wallet and your Solana wallet.
Relay is non-custodial — your assets remain in your wallet until the transaction executes, and arrive directly at your destination address.
Step 3: Set Your Route
Source: Click the token selector on the left to choose the asset you're starting with. Select the chain it's on.
Destination: Click the token selector on the right to choose the asset you want to receive. Select the destination chain.
Amount: Enter the amount you want to send or the amount you want to receive. Relay calculates the other side of the quote automatically.
Common routes:
- USDC (Ethereum) → USDC (Base)
- ETH (Ethereum) → ETH (Arbitrum)
- SOL (Solana) → USDC (Base)
- USDC (Base) → ETH (Base)
Step 4: Review the Quote
Before confirming, you'll see:
- Exact output amount — what you'll receive, with fees already factored in
- Estimated time — typically under 3 seconds for crosschain routes
- Execution details — the route Relay will use
There are no hidden fees. The quote you see is the exact amount you'll receive.
Step 5: Confirm and Receive
Click Confirm and approve the transaction in your wallet. Relay's filler network will execute the swap. For crosschain transactions, the output typically arrives in under 3 seconds.
You don't need the destination chain's gas token pre-funded — Relay's execution model covers destination gas as part of the transaction.
Advanced: Sending to a Different Address
You can send to a different wallet address by clicking the destination address field and entering the recipient address. This is useful for funding another wallet or paying someone in a different token or chain.
Supported Chains and Tokens
Relay supports 85+ chains including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana, Polygon, Blast, Berachain, Abstract, and many more. Supported tokens include ETH, USDC, USDT, WBTC, SOL, and hundreds of others.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Relay is fully non-custodial and requires only a wallet connection.
What's the fee?
Relay charges a protocol fee included in the swap quote. The amount shown before you confirm is the exact amount you receive — no separate fee step.
What if my transaction fails?
If a transaction can't be filled, it reverts and your funds are returned. You cannot be left in a state where funds have left your wallet but the output hasn't arrived.
Can I use Relay on mobile?
Yes. relay.link works in mobile browsers. You can also use Relay through wallets like Phantom or MetaMask that have built-in browser interfaces.
Is there a minimum transaction size?
There's a minimum to ensure the transaction covers execution costs. Small amounts (under ~$5) may not route efficiently. For most transactions, there's no effective maximum.
